About Our School
ONTARIO HIGH SCHOOL
Ontario High School is one of eight comprehensive high schools in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. The current enrollment is approximately 1,900 students in grades 9–12. Ontario High offers a broad selection of Advanced Placement (AP), Honors, college preparatory, and elective courses across core academic departments including English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, World Languages, and Fine Arts. These programs meet UC/CSU admission requirements and prepare students for post-secondary success.
Career Technical Education (CTE) is a key part of the Ontario experience. Our Auto Tech and Masonry programs connect students with hands-on training, internships, and real-world service projects throughout the community. In addition, students thrive in strong Visual and Performing Arts programs, including band, choir, dance, and studio art. Business courses equip students with essential skills in keyboarding, digital tools, and workplace readiness.
Ontario High values the role of families and the community in student success. Parent and community engagement is fostered through participation in School Site Council, ELAC, Parent Academies, GATE, Athletics and AVID. Communication is enhanced through platforms like Parent Square, CANVAS, school social media accounts, and direct outreach from teachers, counselors, campus security, and administrators.
The school was originally built in 1967 and sits on a 40-acre site in a residential area of Ontario. The campus includes eleven permanent buildings and two portables which total 116 instructional spaces, including a library, cafeteria/multipurpose room, auditorium, gymnasium, locker rooms, stadium, weight room, wrestling room, and pool. In 1998, Ontario High School underwent an extensive modernization of its facilities.
By 2026, Ontario will proudly open its newest addition, Building K, a state-of-the-art facility that includes a 4,500-square-foot weight room and a 2,500-square-foot dance studio, enhancing both our physical education, athletics and performing arts programs.
The campus is well-maintained and visually welcoming, thanks to the ongoing dedication of our outstanding grounds and custodial staff. The fields, gym, and aquatic facilities are used year-round by OHS teams and community youth organizations. The school marquee at the front of campus serves as a symbol of pride and a hub for community information.
Ontario High continues to invest in instructional technology. Every student is provided with a Chromebook for school use. Classrooms are equipped with digital tools that promote interactive and personalized learning.
Above all, Ontario High School is committed to providing a safe, clean, and inclusive campus that fosters academic achievement, creativity, and student responsibility. We remain dedicated to preparing students for college, career, and life beyond high school while promoting a strong sense of community and Jaguar pride.
